Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) for Girls, Mohali, has added another proud milestone to its legacy as its alumna Nisha has been commissioned as a Sub Lieutenant in the Indian Navy. She successfully completed her training at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala, and was commissioned during an impressive passing out parade reviewed by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena.

Sub Lieutenant Nisha, who joined the Education Branch of the Indian Navy, is the daughter of Dinesh Chander, a Senior Assistant at Punjabi University, Patiala. Her achievement has brought immense pride to her family, institute, and Punjab.

Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora congratulated Nisha on her achievement and stated that her success would inspire more young women from Punjab to pursue careers in the armed forces. He also highlighted the Punjab Government’s efforts under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to support girls aspiring to become commissioned officers.

Director of Mai Bhago AFPI, Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu (Retd.), also extended his best wishes to Nisha and said her achievement would motivate more girls to join the defence services.
