Phagwara, September 28: Tension at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara following an incident of violence and unrest has led to increased police intervention, with Punjab DGP assuring that those found responsible will face action according to law.

The Punjab DGP visited the university and took stock of the situation. During the visit, discussions were held regarding the incident and the concerns raised by students.

Following the developments, a large number of students were seen leaving the university campus and returning to their homes. Students were seen carrying their luggage and bags as they exited the campus.

The university has also announced the suspension of classes for a period of 10 days in connection with the situation. The decision has resulted in students temporarily leaving the campus.

Police officials said the matter is being investigated and that action will be taken after examining the circumstances and evidence related to the incident.

The DGP assured that the concerns of students would be taken seriously and that no person found responsible for any wrongdoing would be spared. The investigation into the matter is underway.
