Free medicines and food being provided to Covid – 19 patients in the isolation Wards – Deputy Commissioner
72 new Covid – 19 cases found in district on Thursday. In addition, retests of two already positive patients have also returned positive.
39 out of 74 cases of Thursday are of Bathinda district while rest are from other districts and states.
Special care is being taken to maintain cleanliness at isolation centres.
18953 samples collected so far in the district.
17903 reports negative.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. B. Srinivasan today said that the Punjab Government has taken all measures under Mission Fateh to check the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
Under this isolation wards have been setbup at DDRC, Meritorious School and IHM near District Hospital in the district.
Special teams have been deployed by the health department to take care of corona affected patients in these wards.
The state government is providing free pick up and drop off services to the affected patients.
Apart from this, free food and necessary medicines are also being provided to the patients admitted in the isolation wards. Special care is also being taken for cleanliness in the established isolation wards.
Disclosing this here today the Deputy Commissioner said that so far 18953 samples have been collected in the district out of which 17903 samples were reported negative and 321 persons were reported positive out of which 203 belong to Bathinda district while rest are from other districts and states.
So far, 192 patients have returned home safely after defeating Coronavirus. He also clarified that so far 5 persons affected by Coronavirus have died in the district out of which 4 belonged to Bathinda and 1 to Moga district.
Giving more information about Covid-19, Civil Surgeon Dr. Amrik Singh Sandhu said that at present there is a DDR near the District Hospital.
There are 19 patients in the isolation ward at DDRC and 35 at the Covid Care Center at Meritorious School. In addition, 23 Corona affected people have been admitted to the Military Hospital, Bathinda, all belonging to Cantt.
Appealing people, Srinivasan said that the government was taking important steps to prevent Covid-19 spread.
He warned the general public that Coronavirus is a deadly virus that often spreads through contact.
The Deputy Commissioner warned the residents of the district against Coronavirus and said that in order to prevent the spread of the virus, it was mandatory for every person to wear a face mask. In addition, a distance of two yards should be maintained and personal contact should be reduced. He also appealed the general public not to let children and the elderly persons to get out of the house without any urgency.
Appealing the residents, the Deputy Commissioner said that they should ensure that the instructions given by the government were followed in all the circumstances so that the Mission Fateh to defeat Covid-19 could be made a success.
Meanwhile, results of 74 persons have come positive for Covid – 19 in district on Thursday. Out of these two are already Covid – 19 patients and their retests have returned positive while 72 are new cases. Of 74 cases, 39 are of Bathinda district while rest are from other districts and states.
