Chandigarh: Renowned author Ninder Ghugianvi, who has written 69 books at the age of 49, has been appointed as the ‘Professor of Practice’ in the Punjabi Department of Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (Ghudda). He is the first Punjabi writer to be appointed to this position. Ninder Ghugianvi has been writing since 1992 on various genres of literature, as well as on Punjabi culture, music, and arts. His autobiography “Main Saan Judge Da Ardali” has been translated into a dozen Indian languages and was later published in English by NBT Delhi.
Head of the Punjabi Department, Professor Ramandeep Kaur, shared that during his tenure at the Central University of Punjab, Ninder Ghugianvi will write a comprehensive book on the esteemed Punjabi ghazal poet Deepak Jaito and will also conduct lectures for the students. Ghugianvi, who has been honored with the ‘Sahitya Ratan’ award by Punjab University, Chandigarh, has previously served as a ‘Writer in Residence’ at the Central University of Maharashtra, Wardha.
