Rain water released in new rainwater ponds near Sajnay Nagar STP
The Deputy Commissioner visited the ponds and disposals constructed for drainage in the city

Deputy Commissioner Mr. B. Srinivasan today inspected the disposals set up for drainage at various places in the city to oversee the drainage of rainwater.
He visited Sanjay Nagar located Sewerage Treatement Plant (STP). On this occasion rain water was also released in the newly constructed ponds in 10 acres near the plant. Mr. Bikramjit Singh Shergill, Commissioner Municipal Corporation was also specially present with him on the occasion.
After reviewing the arrangements made for the drainage of rain water, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the new ponds have the capacity to collect 1.50 lakh metric cubic meters of water whereas rainwater has already been released in rainwater pond near DAV College. This pond is also capable of collecting about 1.25 lakh metric cubic meters of water. Due to these ponds, the residents of the city will now get rid of the problem of drainage of rain water.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also gave necessary directions to the officers present to expedite the drainage of water in the city. On the occasion Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Bikramjit Singh Shergill informed about the arrangements being made for the drainage of rain water in the city and said that motors were being run at full capacity day and night for the drainage of water from the disposals set up in the city. On this occasion Superintendent Engineer of Municipal Corporation Mr. Sandeep Gupta and Executive Engineer Mr. Kishore Bansal were also present.
